Was reading this book on life and longevity and all the things that people can do to living better for longer periods of time. And this book got into so much detail, it blew my mind. Well, I gotta tell you that today was an interesting day. We're trying to get our cat to be an indoor cat since we have coyotes in our area that go after cats at night. Now that our cat is six months old, naturally he wants to go outside. We've put a barrier on our dog's doggie door because the cat has figured out how to go outside using the dog's door. We take the dog out several times a day to go take care of business, but now it's a battle to keep the cat in! Every time we go out, the cat tries to sneak out. Since I'm not working this week and my sister is away on vacation, I thought I'd spend some relaxing time with my mother. Well, it was fun but not exactly relaxing! We started with a list: She wanted to get a new digital box for her TV (and my sister had kindly mentioned that I knew how to set it up - she thinks if I know computers I must know digital TV. It's all electrical, right?). We had to collect a package, go to the bank, buy some shoes and I wanted to introduce her to my new hobby - making greeting cards - so we had to visit a craft shop. She'd finally decided on a digital box and a new VCR/DVD player, so I spent 3 hours trying to get them to all work together. We also bought all the craft stuff, but didn't get a chance to play with it. We did get to Allen Key Wrenches, but not until late. At the end of the day, I was wiped out but my mother was still going strong and settled down for her first experience of QVC. I wouldn't mind, but she's 86!

My father is an excellent photographer. Runs in the family. My sister and brother have taken excellent photo which have been shown in galleries. But my father is lousy with a video camera. This has been his trait since day one of getting his hands on a video camera. And over the years he has shown zero improvement. Just yesterday he showed the family the video he took when he took a river boat tour in one of the state parks. Just as day one when he opened the box of his first video camera, there were many unfocused scenes, many dizzying blurry quick pans, many shots of the ground, and occasional views of the actual scene in focus, but those were only momentary, jittery and choppy. I somehow managed to hurt my back around 10 days ago. I just came from a site about Bulimia Fatos and then got served up one of those moving popup ads about a betting slash gambling site. I really wonder about those betting sites. In fact, I'm skeptical about anything that's electronic as anyone can manipulate that easily so the odds and the favor is always stacked against the players of the system. You know what I mean? I mean, if someone can write an algorithm to only pay out so much, I can easily begin losing my money after a winning streak. Easily. So if I were to do any real betting, I'd do it at a live poker or blackjack table where I can actually see what is going on live right in front of me.
Some people really like to slingg some mud in web forums ou there. I personally like to read how people get into it, but I personally like to keep to myself. I ran across a real puzzler this week. I bought this great little script from a trusted source. Someone I had bought from before, and never had any problems with. This is a great script, the price is right, and it works for everyone else - except me. Bummer, I thought and got in touch with the owner. He got right back to me with suggestions and questions. We went back and forth for a while, and since he couldn't figure out what was wrong, he put me in touch with his programmer directly. Now I ask you, has anyone ever done that for you with a piece of software you bought? The programmer got right back to me, and guess what, he is writing a program that will enable him to see just what is going on, and why it won't work for me. Then he'll tweak the script so that it will work for me, if at all possble. An the guy even apologetically said that it may take a couple of days! Folks, I have to tell you, that kind of thing is just about unheard of. And you know what? These guys will have a customer for life. Just had to share something good with you, so you can see that great service is not dead on the internet. What a day! With what we got hit with outside I am so glad to be inside.
