White Castle Burgers Still Taste The Same

I grew up where White Castle burger joints were prolific, and scarfed down many a burger after a night out on the town. I moved to the west coast where for some reason WC doesn't exist, but I'm in the midwest on business right now and they have 'em here.

It was late tonight and I hadn't gotten around to eating dinner when I saw the familiar logo and I just HAD to pull in and have a few.

Now I haven't eaten a WC burger in over 20 years, but I'm here to tell you that they taste EXACTLY like I remember them, and God help me but I actually like the way they taste. :-)

This experience differed radically from that of a few months back when I decided to try some Hostess "Ding Dongs" (those chocolate frosted, cream filled chocolate hockey puck things). Now I know tastes change from when you're a kid, but that thing tasted like nothing but a bunch of chemicals and artificial flavors. Blegh.

It's nice to know that SOME things do indeed never change....

"Obese" As An Offensive Word

Just shoot me now. In this story it's stated that there is a debate going on concerning whether to use the word "obese" to describe... obese children. Why? Because it might hurt their feelings or make them angry.

Here's a snippet from the article:

Obese "sounds mean. It doesn't sound good," said Trisha Leu, 17, who thinks the proposed change is a bad idea.
The Wheeling, Ill., teen has lost 60 pounds since March as part of an adolescent obesity surgery study at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
"When you're young, you don't understand what obese means," Leu said. "I still don't understand it."[emphasis added]

That's pathetic. My daughter is 9 years old and she understands EXACTLY what obese means.

Friggin' denial isn't going to make the situation any less real. Doctors NEED to be using the term "obese" as a reality check/slap upside the head for the parents of these kids and the kids themselves.

It's bloody ridiculous. More political correctness run amok and idiot parents who don't understand what they're doing to their children. Adult onset diabetes in kids is skyrocketing due to this obesity epidemic.

Maybe I should just stop complaining and invest in pharmaceutical companies that produce insulin...

Instead of traditional bodybuilding try using kettlebells to get ripped and shredded!
